How to switch kibble without an upset stomach

Dogs notice a new bag before you do. The smell changes, the kibble shape changes, and a sudden swap is the fastest way to a messy Tuesday night.

We recommend a seven-day handoff: three parts old to one part new for two days, then half and half for three days, then one part old to three parts new. Keep water down all day. If stools loosen, stay on the current ratio an extra day instead of pushing forward.

Puppies, seniors, and dogs with known chicken or grain sensitivities should take ten days. Bring the old bag with you when you visit — we will portion the first mix so you are not guessing at the counter.
